Nature of Catholic, Medieval Christianity
So much can be learnt from St Francis of Assisi and it shows how much times have changed. He gave up his whole life to spread God's values and it is important now days to remember these things in this modern world. Francis has shown the church and the people that the Catholic religion is not always easy to follow and when he found things tough he went back to ask God for support and guidance and it worked. I think from researching St Francis I found how inspiring he was from the way he stood up for what he believed in and, never once did he think about turning around, God was such an important part of his life. Christianity but more importantly medieval Christianity would have been a hard thing to do and to stick with, constantly having to teach people your way but he did this and it really shows how dedicated you have to be and share interest in spreading God's words. It seems that Christianity has developed a lot over time and back when St Francis was alive a lot of laws and rules were made, where now days it is more about picking what you believe in and following it. St Francis renewed Christianity to the way Jesus lived and would have had it. All this is evident in the way that these morals implement 'love for God and love for neighbor' (Mt 22:37-40). Everything in Christianity is linked to this.
